The strip out of retail and commercial office spaces included the removal of screeds across 11 floors of the tower block, removal of a large quantity of asbestos material, removal of fixtures, fittings, joinery, glass and plasterboard partitions, ceilings, male and female toilets, floor coverings and all M&E services back to incoming service connections.
The project required careful sequencing to allow the asbestos removal works to take place concurrently with the stripout works without compromising either safety or programme.
